Chapter Seven: §3

1026 YD – August
Miggest : Lenyol

As in Pends, Vilsonius worked to revitalise the lands of Seaton. The town prospered under his care, and his name was spoken with great respect.
__And so when Custodia Galluel summoned Duke Vilsonius to the capital to appoint High Weaver, glasses were raised in his honour throughout the land.

Chapter Seven: §2

March – 1025 YD
Seaton, Miggest

The restoration of Pends would become legend, and the man who inspired trees to mature in a season, revived withered herds and flocks, and taught broken soil to hold water won himself the heart of the region.
__As the noblewomen turned their eye toward Vilsonius, Galluel guided him toward the young Duchess of Seaton. His quiet courtship of her was admired by the ladies of Court; news of their betrothal spread quickly, and within eighteen months of being dispatched to Pends his place in the peerage was secured.

Chapter Seven: §1 Meanwhile, North

September – 1023 YD
Delus, Miggest

Some months after the inauguration of the Duke of Trialle, Vilsonius accepted the Custodia’s invitation to the region’s capital.
__He was admitted to the Great Hall and found it empty of attendants. Custodia Galluel sat on a platform above the vast space, leaning against the side of her throne, ankles crossed, bemusement folded in the corner of her mouth. The throne of his homeland was high, large, and cold.

Chapter Four: §5

(Continued)
Lirna, Lenyol

Along their journey north, Régan had dictated a dozen letters summoning her closest allies in the Court. Her assistant, Brennan, had been instructed to polish and dispatch them. Upon receiving her father’s message she went directly to the servant’s quarters and ordered a maid to retrieve Brennan.
__He appeared within moments. ‘Come,’ she commanded, and lead him to her rooms.

Chapter Four: §2

December – 1022 YD
Gesula, Lenyol

Kengar had returned to Gesula only for the summer months. He had made arrangements with her new tutor so that for the duration of his stay she could resume her training in weaving. Thus she was free to spend long days with her uncle among the stones, retiring ravenous, head aching, and happy. Mellena would join them in sessions at his house from time to time, but her new trademaster could seldom spare her. It had been a dry spring and the flock needed moving often. Chapter Three: §2

(Continued)
Offenure Castle, Lenyol

‘Régan!’ Custodin Màtac opened his arms to the closing doors and smiled. ‘I am pleased you could join us.’
The Princess stood stiffly by the entry to the Dining Hall. She pushed her lips into a smile and walked slowly to the dining table, mahogany gown draping behind. ‘Thank you for sending mother; I must be reminded to eat at times.’
Bridget ducked her head, receiving her daughter’s gratitude with as much sincerity as was given, and took her seat. The Custodin and Princess did the same, and pleasantries were exchanged. Continue reading “Chapter Three: §2”
